The film is set in 1927, and features a royal visit to Downton Abbey by King George V and Queen Mary. The continuing story of the Crawley family, wealthy owners of a large estate in the English countryside in the early 20th century.

Downton Abbey is an upcoming British historical period drama film written by Julian Fellowes and directed by Michael Engler. It is a continuation of the television series of the same name, created by Fellowes, that ran on ITV from 2010 to 2015. Much of the original cast returns, including Hugh Bonneville, Laura Carmichael, Jim Carter, Michelle Dockery, Elizabeth McGovern, Maggie Smith, and Penelope Wilton. It was revealed in late 2018 that Lily James, who played Lady Rose MacClare in the TV series, and Samantha Bond, who played Lady Rosamund Painswick in the show, would not be returning.

The Goldfinch is a 2019 American drama film directed by John Crowley and written by Peter Straughan, adapted from the 2013 novel of the same name by Donna Tartt. The film stars Ansel Elgort as a young man whose troubled childhood leads him to the world of art forgery after his mother died in a terrorist bomb attack during his time in the museum while taking interest in a painting called the Goldfinch, in which he attempts to recover it from being stolen. Oakes Fegley, Aneurin Barnard, Finn Wolfhard, Sarah Paulson, Luke Wilson, Jeffrey Wright, and Nicole Kidman appear in supporting roles.
