Three Thousand Years of Longing is a 2022 fantasy romantic drama film about a lonely scholar, on a trip to Istanbul, who discovers a Djinn who offers her three wishes in exchange for his freedom. Directed by George Miller and starring Tilda Swinton and Idris Elba. Miller wrote the screenplay with Augusta Gore, adapting the 1994 short story “The Djinn in the Nightingale’s Eye” by A. S. Byatt.
